Description

Indulge in heartwarming Valentine ganache cookies with rich chocolate flavor and a luscious ganache filling, perfect for impressing your loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (35g) sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Gather all your ingredients and equipment. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Sugar and Butter: In a mixing bowl, add granulated sugar and softened butter. Use a whisk or electric mixer to cream until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Blend Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in Chocolate Chips: If desired, fold in chocolate chips for extra flavor.
  7. Chill the Dough: Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  8. Shape the Cookies: Form small balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
  9. Bake the Cookies: Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove and let cool on a wire rack.
  10. Make the Ganache Filling: Heat heavy cream and pour over chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  11. Fill the Cookies: Spread ganache on one cookie and sandwich it with another. Repeat with remaining cookies.
  12. Decorate if Desired: Drizzle ganache on top and add sprinkles for a festive touch.

Notes

Use quality chocolate for the best flavor. Chill the dough to prevent spreading.
